A period with downturn in the construction industry does not mean that the machinery is at a standstill at Aarsleff – only that workers, machines and development work are moving. In the 1980s and 1990s, Aarsleff gained expertise within electrification of railways, and Piling was busy driving piles for the Danish rail network. The specially developed piling rigs then found their way to Spain, Germany and Poland.
Working abroad
Aarsleff’s expertise within piling and foundation work was requested abroad, and Aarsleff was successful introducing the precast concrete piles which made the process faster and cheaper. Most of the pile production took place in Denmark at Centrum Pæle A/S in Vejle. After many years of close collaboration, the company became part of the Aarsleff Group in 1990.
In addition to the pile factory in Vejle, the Aarsleff Group has pile factories in the UK, Sweden and Poland. The Aarsleff Group is the largest pile producer in Europe.
