The bridge between Denmark and Sweden opened in year 2000.
During the establishment of the Øresund Fixed Link, which is among the biggest infrastructure projects in Scandinavia, Aarsleff benefitted from the experience gained during the Great Belt Fixed Link. All stone work of the impressive civil engineering project was carried out by Aarsleff and was one of the biggest challenges during the establishment of the Øresund Fixed Link, technically as well as in terms of time.
In addition to the stone work and dredging work, the Aarsleff Group – alone and in different consortia – was responsible for significant work for the establishment of the 4,210-metre-long artificial island Peberholm as well the land work in Kastrup
